Insurance Coverage Suggestions for Independent Contractors
12/29/07

As an Independent Contractor you will need to obtain various types of insurances as you choose your work as an independent contractor. Prior to your first day of work, malpractice insurance needs to be obtained.

Austill's Rehabilitation Services, Inc. also recognizes the need for health insurance, accident disability and possibly long-term care insurance for our independent contractors. Throughout our 23 years of supporting independent contracting therapists, Austil's has identified various insurance options. These options are listed on our Helpful Links page of this website, www.austills.com/links.cfm.

Please feel free to contact Lynn Lopez, Administrative Assistant at (610) 363-7009, ext. 216 or lynn@austills.com for further information.

First Wheelchair Backflip!!!
04/02/07

Aaron Fotheringham, a 15 year old from Las Vegas, NV has executed a wheelchair backflip!! Aaron was born with spina bifida, spending his first 8 years using braces, but sometimes fooled around with a wheelchair when other children were on bicycles. He began using the chair full time at age 8, after his third painful hip operation. Six years ago, his brother, riding a BMX bicycle, coaxed him into "dropping in" to a half-pipe at a skate park near their home. Aaron fell, climbed back in the chair and did it again. He got a motocross helmet, elbow pads and a seat belt. Now he practices wheelchair tricks almost every day, sometimes for international audiences.
